2025 VINTAGE REPORT
HAWKE’S BAY – The 2025 harvest in Hawke’s Bay is one to remember. A warm, dry spring set the stage with excellent flowering and an early start to the growing season. While summer brought cooler conditions, the fruit developed beautifully, leading to one of the earliest harvests we’ve seen. The quality of the grapes has been outstanding – vibrant, balanced, and full of character. There’s real excitement about the potential of this vintage, and we’re looking forward to crafting wines that truly reflect the charm and elegance of Hawke’s Bay in a standout year.
MARLBOROUGH – Vintage 2025 marks a welcome return to a more classic Marlborough season, following the drought and low yields of 2024. Winter and early spring were kind, with soil moisture levels bouncing back and a smooth start to the growing season. No frost dramas, no cold snaps — just steady, reliable conditions that set the stage for a great year. Flowering was exceptional which resulted in balanced crops and healthy vines. Aside from a bit of rain around Christmas (which the vines loved), the season was very much in line with ‘Long Term Average’ growing conditions. We kicked off harvest in the third week of March and wrapped up by mid-April, bringing in fruit that looked and tasted fantastic for both our Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. It’s still early days, but the signs are all there: 2025 is shaping up to be a standout Marlborough vintage. And for Hãhã, that means vibrant, expressive wines that show off everything we love about this region – fresh, lively, and full of flavour.
We are exceptionally proud of the wines we are seeing come out of Vintage 2025 for both Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough and can’t wait for you to try them.
Until next time,
